I met Kyle on the volleyball court. I wasn’t his photographer at the time, but instead would regularly listen to his coaching and apply it to my game. Kyle was my volleyball coach for several years during middle school and high school, and when I went to college, he moved to Finland. Kyle serves as a missionary in Finland, and that’s how he met Mary.

Mary, a missionary to Kosovo, was attending a missions conference when she met Kyle. Immediately sparks flew as the two discovered similarities in their sense of humor, and most importantly, in their faith. About a month later, Kyle surprised Mary by asking her to marry him. The couple got married in December, and celebrated their wedding last weekend.

Kyle and Mary chose to have their ceremony and reception at the Dixon Family Farm in Xenia, Ohio. In the beautiful landscape there were willow trees, a lake, a beautiful wedding tent, and a large red barn- all perfect for photographs! I was blessed to share the day with this happy couple, who are serving Christ together in Finland.

Here are a couple of my favorite images from the day:

Congrats Kyle and Mary!

I met Kami’s family over a late lunch shared with my future in-laws this past Sunday.  We spent the day nibbling on crab dip and pasta salad while basking in the unnaturally warm Maine heat. Kami, who is 3 years old, was entertaining herself playing with bubbles, turning a flash light on and off, and opening and closing doors. I decided to join the excitement and snap a few pictures. Isn’t her hair beautiful?

Here’s a few of my favorite images:

After several attempts, we concluded the bubbles were defective. However, her face was adorable during every try!

About 3 months ago I found a beautiful wedding dress hanger on Etsy by Lila Frances. I had seen her hangers all over wedding blogs, and I had to get one for myself. After I decided which design I wanted, it took about 8 weeks to have my hanger shipped. Anna, who designs the hangers, has had her work featured in Martha Stewart Weddings and Victoria’s Secret. Let me just say that this custom hanger was worth the wait!

Here’s a photograph of the hanger. Note that I added the ivory ribbon and the jewel, because I wanted it to match some of the other items that I have designed for my wedding.

I met Heather for the first time while eating a plate of delicious chicken and seasonal vegetables. She and I were assigned to the same table at Liam and Allie’s wedding reception, even though I was away from the table shooting most of the evening. In the few moments we spent getting to know one another, I learned that Heather used to be a journalist and now works for a consulting firm in Dayton.

Yesterday I had the pleasure of conducting a corporate-style head shots shoot for Heather and her fellow associate Kathy at Kathy’s beautiful home. The images will be used to promote the ladies’ upcoming conference representing Innovative Interchange Associates. Their mission as consultants is to coach individuals and organizations to be and become their best. Good luck with your work ladies!

Here are a few of my favorite shots from our time together:
