I recently met Sarah and Jacob at a group shoot, and I absolutely loved working with them. They have been married for over a year, and they are completely comfortable around each other. I love the intent look in Sarah’s eyes as she gazed up toward Jacob:

Weather warm enough in which to swim is the mark of summer. Weather cool enough to wear warm clothing is the mark of fall.

These are my brown boots. Not really cowboy boots, not really riding boots, not really glamourous boots. Just brown boots, with pirate cuffs at the top, as I call them.

Yesterday was the first day I wore my brown boots. With new-found confidence I leapt over puddles and stood tall as I walked. (Okay, so I’m already 5’11″, but you get the point.)

Lauren is my sister. Lauren and I don’t have the same color hair, or the same nose shape. We don’t wear the same dress size, and we didn’t major in the same thing in college. There were many days while growing up when we didn’t get along.

Welcome to sisters 2.0. We don’t fight over Barbies, bicycles, or the best seat in the TV room anymore.

Lauren is more than my sister. She’s my best friend.

I met Kate in math class. During a long and boring study session, she and I took a break to share our stories. Love stories that is.

Kate met John at college. They were just friends. John was an avid cyclist, and Kate liked biking too. They began biking together at their college. Kate thought John was attractive, but didn’t speak up about it until John did. Because, they were just friends. Kate and John found out that they both liked each other. Kate and John fell in love and got married.

About six months ago, I ran into Kate at the gym. (Excuse the pun.) She excitedly told me that she and John were expecting their first child. Earlier this week I had the pleasure of shooting their maternity images at the Dixon Family Farm, and here are a few of my favorite images:

Kate – You’re a beautiful mom already! 

This farm cat followed us around for the entire shoot, so I took a portrait of him just for fun. 

Oh baby!

John and Kate were the winners of the fall model call, but their shoot wasn’t a typical love shots session.
