Mike and I walked up to the gate to enter Smith Memorial Gardens. On the front was posted a sign that read Please keep the gate closed to keep the deer out. After reading this sign, we knew this shoot was going to be awesome.

Upon entering the gardens, Melissa greeted us with a smile, despite the nearly 100 degree heat. For the next hour, we had fun posing with her sun hat and trying to spy on the black cat that kept running passed us.

After capturing many fun fashionable photos, I am confident in Melissa’s career as a model. Here’s some of my favorite images from the shoot:

The first time he saw her, he thought she was a math professor’s teaching assistant. “Wow,” he thought to himself, “I wonder how that professor has such a cute girl help him with his class.” Little did Kevin know, but Melody wasn’t a teaching assistant. She was a PhD student who just happened to have blonde hair, blue eyes, and love the color pink.

Several weeks later, Melody and Kevin met up again at a party.  In conversation with other guys, Kevin mentioned that some of the civilian girls at school were very attractive. Melody overheard his statement and laughed. Little did she know the two of them would develop affection for each other.

Over the next couple of weeks, Kevin and Melody began watching movies together, baking together, and working out at the gym together. They even began attending a Bible study together.

I’ve had the pleasure of knowing Kevin and Melody both separately before they were “Kevin and Melody.” They recently asked me to take some Love Shots of them since they were dressed up for Kevin’s military banquet. Take a look at some of my favorites:

I’m not a fan of recipes with more than 10 ingredients. I’m also not a fan of measuring and mixing and timing. So, a tossed salad was the perfect thing to make for lunch given my cooking style. Today I invented a salad that includes both my favorite ingredients (apples and almonds), and other more healthy ingredients I know I should include (tomatoes and leafy greens).

Below is a story through images of how I made my summer salad, with completely visual instructions. Enjoy!

Mix everything. Serve chilled with croutons for some extra crunch.

What better way to enjoy a fresh salad that eating al fresco?!

I met Katie for the first time over coffee back in October, and we had a fun time talking about all of her creative wedding details. I met Chris several weeks before their wedding, and it was obvious they were both excited to be married and serve Jesus together.

Their wedding ceremony was held at the CrossRoads Christian Fellowship Church in Tipp City, Ohio, and following was a beautiful reception at the fabulous Fort Piqua Plaza Banquet Center.

Sit back and enjoy this long post, full of Katie and Chris’s spring wedding details!

With excited anticipation I handed my last final exam to my professor, and glided out the double doors. I knew that the last day of class for the quarter meant I was just that much closer to the day of my bridal shower.

I am blessed with an amazingly creative sister, who also happens to be my maid of honor. I couldn’t wait to see what she had planned for the party. Better yet, my future mother-in-law surprised me and flew up to Ohio for the weekend. I was so blessed to have both my mother and Michael’s mother at the bridal shower!

Finally, the big day arrived. I was blown away by the details my sister, friends, and family had created.  I was especially delighted to see custom cupcakes designed by 3 Story Cakes. Even more, my sister bought both vanilla and chocolate macarons- my favorite!

The best part of the day was getting to see so many wonderful ladies that have been so special in my life. Take a look at some of the highlights of the day!
