“The first time I saw her, I just knew,” said Nate with confidence. Upon hearing his statement, Jocelyn threw back her head and laughed. “It took him a while to figure out he knew,” Jocelyn said, explaining how she and Nate dated on and off before becoming serious. But Valentine’s Day changed everything.

Jocelyn walked in the door from work on Valentine’s Day, and waiting for her was a pair of stuffed animals. Between the stuffed animals was a box. Inside the box was, you guessed it, a ring! It was then that Nate asked Jocelyn to marry him and they started planning their wedding.

Soon thereafter, Jocelyn foundĀ my profile on TheKnot.com and contacted me about shooting her wedding. I’ve had a great time getting to know her and her mom over the past couple months, and I look forward to her wedding next weekend. Here are a few of my favorite shots from Jocelyn and Nate’s engagement session:

This photo is a throw back to the Beatles’ infamous cross-walk photo, as requested by the bride-to-be.
Congrats Jocelyn and Nate!

One of my first memories of Sarah include myself, Melody, and a New Years Eve party. We stayed home and watched a terrible chick flick while eating a wide variety of cheesecake. Melody and I sat on the couch and talked about life while Sarah sat and typed on her laptop. She was taking online graduate classes, and she had mandatory online discussion-posting sessions every night. Melody and I became interested in her homework when she read us some of the funny responses posted by students as far away as Latin America.

Later that year, Sarah, Melody, and I were introduced to Aaron, who goes by the name “AC” because his last name starts with a C. Shortly thereafter, AC and Sarah started dating. A year later, AC proposed to Sarah on their anniversary, while eating dinner at the melting pot. They will be getting married this July, so that Sarah’s sister can attend the wedding. The wedding will take place at the Kroc Center in downtown Dayton, where Sarah works as a fitness trainer.

Below are some of the highlights from AC and Sarah’s engagement session. The happy couple were smiling for two reasons: they are in love, and they are happy that the rain held off for their pictures.

Enjoy browsing the images!

Congrats AC and Sarah!

It wasn’t until I met Katie last fall at their love shots shoot that I saw the more laid back fun-loving side of Ben.

Fast forward about 5 months. I overheard Ben mentioning that he was recently engaged, so I new some new photos were in order. While we were shooting, Ben explained the diamond in the engagement ring was from his grandmother’s jewelry– an heirloom!

Here are some shots from the couple’s favorite park in Oakwood:

Katie– I love your red shoes!

The couple plan to get married at the end of the summer in Chicago. Best wishes Ben and Katie!

I first met Blake when we were in middle school and attended the same church. I used to go over to her house where we would put on make-up and do our hair. Now, 10 years later, Blake is a professional hair stylist and still has great fashion.

I was overjoyed to shoot with Blake and her fiance downtown in the cityscape. There was only one catch… it was raining. We snuck inside the Schuster Center on the corner of 2nd Street and Ludlow to talk about the plan of attack for the photos.

With a constant mist of rain, and barely reaching 40 degrees all day, the light in the city was breathtaking. Even more, there were barely any cars or people around on a rainy Sunday, so it was as if we had the whole city to ourselves.

Our approach to this shoot was FASHION. We wanted these pictures to look more like something out of a recent copy of Elle or In Style, instead of traditional engagement pictures. Let me know your thoughts!

Congrats Blake and Jeremy!

In frigid weather, we celebrated the engagement of this awesome couple! The single digit temperatures did not keep us from having a great time. Izzy, the couple’s siberian husky, came along for the shoot. She had no problems adapting to the outside weather!
