I met Kyle on the volleyball court. I wasn’t his photographer at the time, but instead would regularly listen to his coaching and apply it to my game. Kyle was my volleyball coach for several years during middle school and high school, and when I went to college, he moved to Finland. Kyle serves as a missionary in Finland, and that’s how he met Mary.
Mary, a missionary to Kosovo, was attending a missions conference when she met Kyle. Immediately sparks flew as the two discovered similarities in their sense of humor, and most importantly, in their faith. About a month later, Kyle surprised Mary by asking her to marry him. The couple got married in December, and celebrated their wedding last weekend.
Kyle and Mary chose to have their ceremony and reception at the Dixon Family Farm in Xenia, Ohio. In the beautiful landscape there were willow trees, a lake, a beautiful wedding tent, and a large red barn- all perfect for photographs! I was blessed to share the day with this happy couple, who are serving Christ together in Finland.

We were waiting on Madame to return from lunch, and we were hoping to jump out and surprise her. As third year high school French etudiants we were comfortable- maybe too comfortable – pulling pranks on our loving and patient teacher.
Allie and I met in middle school when we were both transferring from other schools…and both played volleyball…and both took French and advanced math. In fact, Allie and I were in almost every high school class together for four straight years. I can still remember Allie’s brightly technicolored school supplies and her neatly organized day planner. I also remember the day in chemistry class when we told me that she was officially dating Liam (nicknamed Billy at the time), whom she had known since childhood.
Fast forward through high school and most of college, when Liam and Allie, who were still dating, attended a Coldplay concert. While their favorite band played the song “Life in Technicolor”, Liam asked Allie to marry him. I had the pleasure of shooting their engagement pictures back in August, and now, shot their wedding in Cincinnati. The Coldplay theme was evident throughout the wedding, from the colors to the music. Take a look at my favorite images:

Lillian, the bride, completed designed the entire wedding. She made all of her jewelry, her bridesmaid’s jewelry, and she designed every dress worn to the wedding- INCLUDING her wedding dress! What a creative couple! Take a look at some of their pictures: Something old (pearls), something new (tiara), something borrowed (lipgloss), and something blue (background). [...]
