Modern Photographer for Fashionable People.

Welcome! My name is Lindsay and I'm a Southern Ohio wedding photographer. I love blessing others through photography in Jesus' name. I'm married to a robotics engineer named Michael and we love meeting new people and creatively documenting their lives. What sets me apart as a photographer is my ability to create a unique, sophisticated, and fashionable experience for every client. On this blog you will find photos from my recent shoots and personal design projects. Thanks for stopping by!

It all started with the four of us piling into the car and heading up the side of a mountain on an icy road. Once we made it to a level part of the winding road, we jumped out of the car and began having fun. Luckily, no bears or moose interrupted our shoot.

Take a look and enjoy!

After 9 months separated due to military deployment and training, my love Michael and I were reunited in Alaska. It was a beautiful week of reconnecting as a couple and we are so excited about our upcoming wedding in 75 days!

Here is a glimpse of our week together:

This is Michael’s Calvin Klein jacket. It is his favorite piece of clothing.

Meet Wall-E, one of Michael’s robots. Michael builds robots, names them, and then creates programs to make them do cool things. That’s my robotics engineer!

You can’t see his Magic Mouse, but it’s on the desk. Trust me.

And lastly…. a photo of us together. Finally reunited! Praise the Lord.

Meet my dear friend Beth.

On average we study together four times a week. I know what she packs for lunch most days before she opens her lunchbox, and I have a designated seat on her couch to watch Chuck on Monday nights.

These shots were taken as a gift to her parents. There is always a reason to celebrate life with photography!

I always believed she would meet her goal. To lose 100 lbs was a daunting task, but one that Melody conquered with style.

I’ve had the pleasure of documenting her progress through a series of lifestyle shoots, which you can check out here:

The Red Hot Shoot

The Transformation Shoot

The Beginning Shoot

Today, we celebrated the final culmination of her accomplishment, but more than that, a brand new beginning. She looked stunning in her outfits, but her perspective on health and life was glowing as well. Enjoy this visual celebration!

A striking before and after:

Several times a year I re-evaluate my brand, photography skills, gear needs, and goals. I mentally break down reality into two parts: what’s working and what’s not working. Examples of things that are working are my logo, the gear I’m using, and my current goals. In contrast, some of the things that are not working, once recognized, become the things I try to change.

One recent example of something I’ve changed is my website. I adore the colors gray and white. They are present in my old website, and also in my new website that will be debuting tomorrow. However, when I asked myself the question What words can be associated with my website?, my old website did fit the bill. So, instead of creating a brand from a website, I decided to re-invent my website to satisfy some of the words I wanted people to associate with my brand. Here are a few of those goals:

- In less than 10 seconds I want the website viewer to think of the following words: magazine, city, clean, fashion, authentic emotion.

- Upon entering the website, I want the view to see me before they see my images. I think it’s vital for a client to have a positive relationship with both the photographer AND the photography itself.

- I want the viewer to see a consistent theme that will complement our first in-person meeting. If they see a colorful website, and I’m a more reserved person, the website is misaligned to the photographer.

- I want the website to show off my portfolio in an efficient way. No viewer wants to spend 2 hours browsing a website just to evaluate someone’s style. It should be very obvious.

- Finally, I pulled inspiration from a variety of sources. Some of the main sources are displayed here:

And finally, a sneak preview of my new website splash page, front page, and my favorite things page. This new design should be live sometime within the next 48 hours, so check it out!
